In relocating for work, we needed to sell our Connecticut home quickly in a tough market. Our first real estate agent did not pay much attention to the staging or the quality of the photos. As a result, our house languished for over a month with little online attention and no showings. Our second real estate agent recommended staging by Interiors by Lindsay before taking new photos. Lindsay absolutely transformed our home with her work. As soon as the new listing went live, online traffic increased dramatically – we were quickly one of the top visited Zillow listings in the area. Despite all of the challenges to selling a house quickly in a tough market and in the winter months, we got an offer! I know that Lindsay’s beautiful staging made all of the difference in the outcome.

Up until two months ago, when I thought of home staging I thought it was reserved for those select ‘high end homes’ where staging was almost a requirement. What I didn’t think of was why staging was used in those high end homes and how it could even benefit me in my modest starter home.
Often, when we are going through the home purchasing and selling process the numbers we deal with are so high we don’t think about the impact of a $5,000 or $10,000 price cut to our wallets, so why does spending $500 or $1,000 to avoid that price cut seem so hard? Is it because it’s real money and not the ‘play’ money we use through loans and negotiations? If someone told you that you could spend $500 and in two months you’d get $5,000 wouldn’t you want to know their secret?
Home staging truly is what sets you aside from the competition. I am so grateful I decided to use Interiors by Lindsay and was able to get past my preconceptions. Lindsay has a truly amazing vision and she is extremely easy to work with. She came to my home and was able to envision how to make our ‘cozy’ home inviting and timeless in the market. I can honestly say, after Lindsay spent a day staging out house, I sat down in my sons nursery and felt nothing but a wave of calm. I had this strange feeling come over me, and then realized it was me wanting to live in this newly serene space. Oddly enough, I thought ‘now this is the type of home I want to move to’. It was then I realized, the extreme value I had received in working with Lindsay.
Within hours of putting our house on the market we had requests for 9 showings with the phone ringing every hour! I attribute this to Lindsay’s vision. Looking back at the ‘before’ photos and then at those that were posted on our listing I am nothing but speechless. Lindsay has not only helped me sell my house for more and faster, but she has given me the energy to use her vision in my new home.
If I could give you one piece of advice when you decide to sell your home, it would be to take a step back and strongly consider that home staging is for you no matter how big or small your house, or how warm and inviting you think you’ve made it. Home staging gives you the competitive edge in today’s marketplace.

We enlisted Lindsay’s help on a color consult for the interior of our new house and could not be happier with the results. Moving in was exciting, but the prospect of choosing paint colors was completely overwhelming. All of the walls were various takes on tan, and we wanted a variety of shades and colors. We had an idea as to general schemes for some of the rooms, but for others we were at a complete loss. Lindsay brought in her full color portfolio, listened to our ideas, and built off them to create a beautiful flow from room to room. In about an hour, we had selected a color palette for our entire house. Lindsay has a talent for combining colors in interesting ways and using accent walls to highlight key features of the home. She even gave us suggestions on how to incorporate complementary colors into decorating elements and create a connection between the rooms. Lindsay helped turn a typically stressful, consuming process, into a fun and positive experience. We have received many compliments on the end product and highly recommend Lindsay’s design services.

You know that scene in Pretty Woman when Vivian goes from wearing cutoff jeans to a ballgown with pearls, and Richard Gere is speechless? Yeah, Linday’s like that with rooms.
